Puelo Sin Torres is a campaign that amplifies the citizen movement to defend the Puelo River.

Puelo Sin Torres is a citizen movement made up of people who believe in community development that respects and lives in harmony with nature. We protect Puelo because it is a territory with unique biodiversity and a strong local identity.
This project marks the beginning of Puelo Patagonia’s story. The organization was founded in 2013 to protect the Puelo River from the threat of the Mediterráneo hydroelectric plant — a project that endangered the region’s biodiversity and the sustainable tourism potential of the watershed and its communities.
Thanks to legal action, strong community pressure, and technical support from the NGO, the project was successfully halted in 2016.
