Puelo Sin Torres is a campaign that amplifies the citizen movement to defend the Puelo River.


Puelo Sin Torres es un movimiento ciudadano. que integran todas las personas que creen en un desarrollo de las comunidades en armonía con su entorno. Protegemos Puelo porque es un territorio único en biodiversidad e identidad local.

This project marks the beginning of Puelo Patagonia’s story. The organization was founded in 2013 to protect the Puelo River from the threat of the Mediterráneo hydroelectric plant — a project that endangered the region’s biodiversity and the sustainable tourism potential of the watershed and its communities.

Thanks to legal action, strong community pressure, and technical support from the NGO, the project was successfully halted in 2016.
